Small Courtyard garden in Terraced West London home. Clients have recently purchased the property and taken on an overgrown and unloved garden space. Maximum use of space, space to be able to flexibly used and a clean modern outdoor space that worked well with the dramatic changes in level. That was the brief
view THIS PROJECTThe clients have a new young family and they wanted to create a more useable garden which worked with the modernist style of the house and the steep banked garden. The Design dropped the level of the upper terrace to wrap the house in Ipe Decking with extended lawn area. Then running around new soft terraces with a cantilevered round deck and finally a Home Office with it its own deck, in the trees at the bottom of the garden. Top balcony also decked and planted.
view THIS PROJECTA small courtyard garden behind this elegant Victorian terraced house. The garden is heavily shaded from surrounding trees so clients were keen to "brighten" the garden and make it into a contemporary outdoor space but which was sympathetic to the Victorian House.Cream Limestone was used to achieve the brightening and was sealed to make cleaning and maintenance easier.
view THIS PROJECTThis is an elegant and stylish property and the clients wanted us to reflect this, and incorporate their values, in the garden. Natural materials and a naturalistic feel are important elements as well as providing a setting for children to play and for the adults to entertain. Abundant and elegant planting will complete the scene.
view THIS PROJECTThe way that I work is to talk with and listen to the client to get a clear understanding of what the client wants from their garden.
Interpreting these requirements is the most important part of the creative process. Good Design and detailed planning lead to a well executed project.
These two elements of Creativity and Planning are the Value of Good Design.
“Ethics are moral principles that govern a persons behaviour or the conducting of an activity”
Our objective is to leave you with a garden from which you derive pleasure. We are skilled at what we do and we put a lot of effort into doing the job well. Our relationship with the client is important to us.
All initial meetings and the initial design are free of charge. The budget we agree is the price you pay.
